MOEI

Volunteer Teaching in Cambodia

Project Info

MOEI Cambodia operates in Siem Reap & Battambang. Siem Reap has an international airport, Battambang is around 3 hours away by car. We’ll organise the airport transfers for you.
We work with schools that are run by the local community, students do not pay to attend classes at the schools. The schools are usually located in villages a maximum of 20 minutes from your accommodation, it is a great opportunity to experience local village life in Cambodia and teach the children who are always willing to learn.

Battambang is a favorite for MOEI volunteers. Even though it is the third largest city in Cambodia it can feel like a sleepy town at times. The city center is not that big, so you’ll find that you walk or cycle everywhere – you’ll rarely need a taxi. Lots of cheap eats and streets to explore. Click here for all the information you need.

Siem Reap is the most popular city in the country. The reason for it being so popular si down to the fact that it is the gateway to the Angkor temples. A bustling city with plenty of things to explore. Click here for all the information you need

You’ll have plenty of time during the weekends and public holidays to explore the rest of the country. It is necessary to visit Angkor Wat in Siem Reap (only 3 hours from Battambang), you won’t find anywhere like it in the world. Battambang has plenty of interesting things to discover too such as the bamboo train and bat caves. You definitely won’t be short of options to fill your free time. Phnom Penh, the capital city, is 6 hours by bus and is definitely worth visiting to learn more about the Khmer Rouge history in the country.

In the evenings you’ll have time to explore the city and find which of the amazing food you like the most! You’ll also meet fellow volunteers, NGO workers and travelers when you’re out and about.
